About Excel Preschool
There’s No Place Like Home
I am so glad you dropped by! While you’re here let me tell you more about myself and Excel Preschool! My name is Jasmine Richards and I am the owner and director of Excel Preschool. I am married with two beautiful daughters. I am a certified Educator with 8 years of teaching experience. I started Excel amidst a global pandemic and out of fear of my youngest daughter not receiving the best childcare. Despite everything, I started Excel with the hopes of delivering a quality education and providing a safe and conducive environment for children ages 3-5. With my progressive and holistic early childhood education philosophy, I understand that each child has unique needs and interests. Although Excel is a home preschool, I provide the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities. Exposing children to different environments and various learning experiences, allows them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Learning Through Play
Curriculum
Although Excel is based in a home setting, I have set up a unique classroom space in the home so that each child gets the feel of a classroom environment. Our curriculum focuses largely on early reading skills, and writing and math skills. We also focus on learning to learn activities, growing confidence, language and literacy, character education, Music and the Arts, Foreign language, Technology, Wellness and Healthy living, and Independence.
Imaginative Play
Pretend play is very important in a child’s development. Here at Excel, I allow children to use imaginative play to learn about themselves and the world, develop important complex social and higher order thinking skills, and cultivate social and emotional intelligence.
Outdoor Play
Depending on your family’s schedule, our Outdoor Play might be the right fit for you. No matter what your child needs, each of our programs will provide the support and tools necessary for optimal growth.
Art Lessons
Our Art lessons are designed to help children with the development of their motor skills, language and social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.
